Creating a Star Wars-Style Prologue
Step 1: Working in Microsoft Word

These instructions are for Microsoft Word, but you can use any word processor provided it can perform the following five basic word processing functions:

Set the margins and type the text in Word. Open Microsoft Word and set the right margin to no more than 30. Set the font for something clear and no-frills, like Arial, 12 point. Make the text bold so it will stand out. Then type your text. Center the title(s) above the text.
Highlight the text and select paragraph formatting.

We need to justify the text in the paragraphs, or the scrolling message will be hard to read. Highlight the text of the message by holding the left mouse button and dragging the mouse.

From the "Format" menu, select "Paragraph".

Change align formatting to justified. The Paragraph menu opens. The default alighment of the text is "Left." Change this to "Justified" and click OK.
Select all text for copying to Paint Shop Pro. Once the text has been justified and the titles centered, we're ready to move the text out of Word and into a graphic program such as Paint Shop Pro. On the "Edit" menu, select "Select All" to highlight all of the text.
Copy the text in Word and, save the document, and exit the program.

Once all of the text has been highlighted select "Copy" from the same "Edit" menu.

At this point we're finished with Word. Save the text if you like and exit the program.
